The Norfolk Coast Path is an 84 mile stretch of Path from Hunstanton to Hopton-on-sea and although it would take days to complete the whole route, you can also tackle it in shorter, more manageable sections at your leisure.

Travelling FIRST CLASS on Kenya's SGR | is it worth it?
Просмотров 21 тыс.14 дней назад
Travelling from Nairobi to our favourite coastal town of Watamu can be expensive when flights can set you back over $300 USD Although flying from Nairobi to Malindi is much quicker we decided to try the cheaper alternative, and take the SGR (Standard Gauge Railway) from Nairobi to Mombasa, then a 2.5 hour shuttle from Mombasa to Watamu. This 6 hour journey passes through the stunning Tsavo Nati...

Big up..nice video and amazing experience you had, next time when you get time you can also try Tanzania electricity Sgr train with 160 km/hr also the double deckers train from Germany and EMU train from South korea..you're welcome!!
Toka hapa kweraa kabisa 😂
We'd love to try them 🙂 We might just have to start a GoFundMe to pay for all that travel 😂
@@WhereNextFamily when you go there just tell me..I'll contribute (you and your family) go and return ticket in Business class for Sgr train..doesn't matter where you gonna go..(just for love and appreciation for what you're doing)
😂eti hii ni sgr! Weh mumefanya hivyo viti vifanane comfortable and eish(haziko) 😅
We found them very comfortable. Admittedly we were in the first class cabin and don't have experience in the other seats but we found it pretty nice
I'm glad to watch your video, it's my first time
Welcome!
What football team you guys go for in the U.K?
We personally don't watch football.
hi, steve from kenya here. Absolutely great vid. i was there towards the end of 2023.. unfortunately didnt manage to see the waterfall.. absolutely stunning.. one thing ive gotta say, absolutely stunning b-role and footage in general... would u by any chance consider doing a camera setup and filming tips video for us who are looking to improve our travel vids?
Thanks for the support. That's not a bad idea, maybe we can do something like that to show a bit of behind the scenes 😉
I’m actually from the same country as them btw I wanna meet you guys irl
Are you in Kenya?
I have been thinking about visiting Watamu again after many years and am interested in how it has changed. I was first there in 1971 and was able to pitch my tent for 5 shillings a night more or less on the beach about (as far as I can judge) half way between Ocean Sports and what seems to be called Blue Bay IGV. Ocean Sports was there but the other one is new. There used to be an old Kenyan man who came down the beach with some fish he had caught and we would buy a couple off him, fillet them, poach them and eat them. I imagine this is no longer possible. Sometimes we would wander the 100 yards or so down the beach and eat and drink at Ocean Sports. I imagine this is still possible. In short then, how much have things changed and where is good to stay and to eat? Obviously you like it so I'm keen to hear what you have to say. Thanks, Mike
Oh wow, I can't even imagine how cool it was back then! Things have definitely changed considerably since then I'd say. Don't get me wrong, it certainly hasn't been commercialised and lost its charm. It's maintained a lot of it's simplicity and rawness, but I would imagine since your last visit a lot of hotels and houses have been built and it's much busier. We still love it though and it's not as touristy as somewhere like Diani, but I'd speculate it's not too far behind
Wait one second, Cromer Norfolk? Okay there's great chapatti at a place on Prince of Wales Rd near you. Is it me or did Ina lose some weight while at home. Looking fit and thin, bravo!
😂 as if you know about Prince of Wales Road 😂
❤❤
Great video. I’m visiting Cairo for 24 hours in 2 weeks. I’m planning the same itinerary. I’m thinking of finding a tour guide through a Facebook group for Cairo tourism.
Sounds great! Have a blast!
Hello. How much was the dome? Is walk in okey? Entrance fee consumable?
I don't remember exactly but I believe it needs to be pre-booked with a minimum spend
@@WhereNextFamily already booked the dome for 5000 baht plus 2000 baht each pax consumable for our bridal shower event. Your video thorough review of the place made me decide to celebrate it here. ☺️☺️☺️
Oh that's cool. I hope you enjoy it 😊
I hate that train ride and will never do it again.
Oh really? What did you hate about it? We thought it was pretty good
Maybe going slow? I hated it too. I thought it was like the Japan bullet train😂😂😂
😂 yeah I think maybe we went in with low expectations which is why we enjoyed it. If we expected a bullet train we'd be very disappointed as well 😉
Did you guys sleep in the deluxe room ?
Ooh good question...I think so yes
I really enjoyed watching your video. Amazing and a lot of good memories.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks a lot 👍 Are there also local food vendors in Odyssey or local people or only tourists?
The train is for everyone. The food they serve is also local food 😋
Old shit must be removed from Africa..... Like Kenya SGR
Interesting perspective. You don't like it? We found it very comfortable
Very helpful video! Planning to travel with 5 yrs old kido soon 😊 thank you
Glad you found it useful 😊
Great video! Whats the biggest different from now and 10 years ago, beside the lovely girl u guys have now? I got 4 kids now haha, last time i was in thailand i had 0! i rly want to take them to thailand, so done with all inclusive trips in euirope. So glad i found this video and your channel, super good vibes and very enjoyable to watch! keep up the good work!
Thanks for watching. To be honest the difference wasn't that much except 10yrs ago we stayed in a more open room shared with other people. This was the first time doing it private. Last time as well the restaurant car turned into a party car at night but apparently that stopped during covid and never took off again. Apart from that the experience was pretty similar I'd say
Nice market 😊 and nice family ❤also
Thank you so much 😊
Could you explain more about how you got the shuttle? Was it booked ahead or there specific shuttles that would go to Diani for example?
We used a company for our shuttle. It was called Big Time ultimate transfers. I'm sure they do other destinations as well. You can also just arrive and find one of these guys with signs and they will put you in the right van
i Cant believe you would risk your families lives in a extremely dangerous motorcycle, we had 2 friends killed in Hua Hin last winter on motorcycles, they are absolutely the most dangerous type of transportation. Rent a car/suv please
I'm not going to attempt to change your opinion but I've been riding motorbikes for years all over the world and will continue to do so. I'm sorry you lost friends in a road accident. I have also lost friends in road accidents that travelled by car, it can happen either way and i think it's very important to be aware of your surroundings at all times.
@@WhereNextFamily it is not an opinion, it is a statistical fact, if you drive a motorcycle long enough you will get seriously hurt or killed. I would never put my children on a motorcycle for any reason, just to save a few $$$$ on a car rental or getting a vehicle taxi, but I won't try to change your mind, you have it already made it up. Take care and good luck
I'm not sure you quite understand how "facts" work. It is not a fact that everyone who rides a motorbike will be hurt or killed at some point. I'd love to see the study you're referring to though. Genuinely appreciate the concern though so thanks for the comment
Adam - Check's too thorough I don't know what they're looking for... Adam - My daughter will never ever take the shuttle because of the driving ??? 😀😀😀
😂 didn't say "too thorough" I said "very thorough" and that it was a good thing 😉
Tanzania's is much better and faster.
Maybe one day we will check it out
SGR is cheaper compared to trains in UK
Oh that's for sure. Trains in the UK are a joke! SGR was great 👍
I Love your video's
Thank you 😊
Wow ❤
❤️
Thankyou
You’re welcome 😊
Do you know whether it's possible to book the shuttle from the Mombasa station to south coast in advance? Thanks.
There are lots of guys with signs outside the terminus when you arrive. I'm sure you could just approach one and get a ride. We prefer to book in advance though
You must always speak up your mind and let them know you're not comfortable with how the person is driving.
It's true. But nobody else seems to think his driving was a problem 😂
@@WhereNextFamily Don't wait for someone else to notice as you will have prevented an accident occurring in the first place. Speak up and Don't be afraid.
Please always speak up no matter what. Coz your life is in the driver's hands
It's true 🙏
Yep, we speak up even in matatus with all the other passengers on board. Some drivers are pretty reckless.
Safer to fly especially the roads after the rains must be atrocious, and duelling work on the MSA - MLD highway means the journey isnt pleasant. My dad always drove us during school holidays on NRB - MSA route and I ended up doing a few trips myself, it can be dangerous if you're lulled into speeding but if you stick to 80-100kph and set off 4AM it's a thoroughly challenging and rewarding drive
Yes agreed if going to Watamu I'd definitely fly in future, however going between Nairobi and Mombasa I think the train is a very good option.
Very nice experience! 💚
Thanks. We enjoyed it 😀
That was a very nice video.
Thank you 😊
Very bad seats on those trains, and quite expensive compared to buses
Personally I disagree on the comfort side. I found it very comfortable, and lots of space to love around that you don't get on a bus. It's also much much safer than taking the bus. I know the train is not within everyone's budget, so of course in that instance then the bus is the obvious choice, but personally I would pick the train over the bus 10 times out of 10
Tanzania's SRG fast train came into operation last week.. it's a little more luxurious than the one in Kenya.
Oh I see you're trying to stir the pot here in the comments 😂 You're about have the 254 army coming at you 😉 But in all seriousness I didn't know about the Tanzanian one. Will have to try when we next cross the border 🙏
please, relax and quietly return to your corner
But it covers a smaller distance though...
You're right, but there are better trains everywhere. 😂😂😂
You’re right but does it pass in the middle of your National Park
As of yesterday what you experienced is now business class. They are bringing in real first class coaches with one seat per window with recliner seats, reading lights e.t.c in a few weeks time. The new coaches will be exactly what you would experience in a first class section in a plane. So I guess you will need to do part two of this first class video.
Interesting! We'll keep an eye out, and start saving up for the inevitable high prices 🙈
hehehe.... I love your jokes
That happening amid the ongoing chaos
Coz I like you guys, I didn't skip the ads.

Perfect editing. You can opt for self drive taxi pay for a day or 2.
Thanks 😊 Self drive/rental is an option if you're only going for a couple of days. We go for longer periods of time and like to work while we travel as well. The highway is also notorious for accidents 🙈
@@WhereNextFamily OK.
🎉
🙌
Great review Adam I would feel the same about the shuttle bus 🫣 so just to confirm you prebook SGR online before going to the ticket counter in the terminal? I reckon the SGR is good if you’re headed to Diani but Watamu it’s probably better just to fly 😅
Thank you 😊 yeah sometimes you get a responsible driver but unfortunately a lot of the time these guys are on the clock and they do this route so often that they go into autopilot. Yes, you book your tickets online, then collect at the station on the day (give yourself an hour before your train). Tickets sell out so I wouldn't advise trying to buy on the day.
@@WhereNextFamilygreat thanks dude 😊
Few years back the Al shabab terrorist real caused havoc in Kenya especially at the coastal area & Nairobi, that is the reason security is very tight at the station.
I actually think it's great that security is tight. Makes you feel much safer
Someone has to solve the Great Chapati Mystery. How does that magnificent flat dough keep appearing on your plates? Check the internet and it seems the threat of terrorism is rearing it's ugly head again in Africa so hence the security checks. Be safe Where Next Family.
😂 its a secret. Really our suitcases are just full of chapatis. We don't own anything else, just cameras and chapatis 😂
